Who do you think YOU are?  Who do you believe the world sees when they see you?  Do you know or care?  Have you given it any consideration at all as you make your day to day decisions?

In my work and day to day travels I've come across more Victims than Villains and fewer Hero's still.  I don't believe it is because there aren't people in the world doing good work or even amazing work but rather that so many people have chosen to play the victim role that their endless wailing has drowned out the Hero's call of victory. As for the Villains, I've seen my share and while I believe most are only masking their own victim-hood, the world could definitely use less of them as well.  All of which got me to pondering what role am I playing today?

Then it dawned on me, maybe there's an even better role to play, the Sage.  To me this role signifies a person choosing to stand in their own truth, accept that others are coming from their own truth, and who when placed in a challenging situation looks upon it with an objective, almost omniscient, view.  If, we can start each day in quiet reflection and gratitude perhaps we can coax ourselves into the role of Sage as our day progresses.  Allowing us to appreciate our own lives for what they are and accept others actions and life choices for what they may or may not be.  Such acceptance could only help to improve the world we live in today.

In the end I would guess we've all played many roles in our day to day lives.  My hope is that more of us choose to seek out roles that help us to advance as people and as part of humanity.
